Angela Ring, MSW, RSW

I am a registered (Clinical Specialist) Social Worker with fourteen years of experience working with the Nova Scotia Health Authority both within Adult Mental Health and Addictions. For the past five years I have been operating a private practice working with First Responders, (Canadian Air Force) Military, and Veteran populations. I specialize in PTSD and complex PTSD.

I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to address emotional/relational difficulties, general anxiety and depressive conditions. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) which are my primary methods to treat trauma and PTSD. I am also certified in Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) which is a treatment method that lays a foundation for healing through the use of sound.

My practice is facilitated by a person-centered, non-prescriptive, and attuned approach which includes a fundamental belief that you are the expert of your own life and have the inherent capacity to reach your own personal potential. In partnership, we will develop an integrated treatment plan to assist with meeting your own unique needs and valued goals.

I live in the beautiful Annapolis Valley with my husband and our three, sweet dogs.
